Day Habilitation Services

Our Day Services offers a wide range of services and supports specifically designed to increase each participant's involvement in the community and the development of skills that will enable them to be more self-sufficient and confident in their every day life.

As new participant enters our day service program, a plan is developed. We work with the person and family, when appropriate, to identify goals that the person would like to work on and clearly stated outcomes.  These outcomes are used to measure our and the participant’s success.  We put a strong emphasis on regularly assessing the participant’s progress, and keeping the participant aware of the progress they are making.

Community Centered Activities include:

Knowing your community: almost on a daily basis going to our local communities.  Learning how to use public transportation, getting involved in activities, such as shopping for the things you will need to make lunch, going to the Y for some exercise,  or going to the bank.

Developing greater Independence:  learning the bus system, grocery shopping, learning about healthy foods, making the lunch you shopped for. Learn how to manage money, using the bank, learn to count money.  Time management, learn how to plan out the day, get to appointments on time.

We take great pride in our flexibility and our commitment to individualized service. There are no buses at PSL.  We recognize that not every one wants the same service.  We are able to be flexible because of our high staff to participant ratio, in most cases a 2 to l ratio.
